The permanent exhibition is divited into four geographic culture areas and a section which gives biographical information on Helinä Rautavaara’s life. The collections display art, ritual and everyday objects from areas such as West Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America. The museum also provides an opportunity to familiarise oneself with Helinä Rautavaara’s ardio programmes, photographs as well as audio and video recordings.
In addition to the permanent collection, the museum also organises 2-3 changing exhibitions every year. These are further complemented by a number of events ranging from various performances to workshops. The museum seeks to provide new interests and activities for people from pre-school children to pensioners.
