Accessibility

The Helinä Rautavaara Museum has put an effort for making the museum and its collection as accessible as possible.

During the years 2006-2008 the Museum created in conjuction with the School of Art and Design a multisensory and culturally accessible guidance package which one can explore independently. It was hence that a descriptive voice guidance for the visually impaired and an interactive touching pad which allows one to touch museum-related objects were made. In addition, audiovisual treasures from the Museum’s collection were brought available to the museum visitors to see and hear.
