Losar, Tibetan New Year reception

Sunday 26.2. at 2 pm

Warmly welcome to celebrate Losar, Tibetan new year with us!

The program includes a virtual New Year’s greeting by Tenzin Topdhe, Director of the Tibet Museum in Dharamsala, a New Year’s speech by Riikka Theresa Innanen, President of the Finnish-Tibetan Cultural Association, and a guided breathing exercise.

A small selection of Tibetan artefacts from the museum’s collection will be on display. Exhibition catalogue J. O. Mallander – a collector’s life’s work – is on sale in the museum shop at a friendly price. Momo and butter tea refreshments.

According to the Tibetan lunar calendar, 21 February marks the beginning of the year of the reconciling and diplomatic Water Rabbit. Tibetans around the world gather on that day to celebrate the New Year.

The event is organized jointly with the Finnish-Tibetan Cultural Association. The event is free of charge.
