My Dream World – Designing Young Dreams
March 4–29, 2015
A city of paper, a hero’s clothing, a probe and some chicken-wire netting were among the materials used when a group of young people from South Africa and Namibia expressed their lives through service design. In workshops led by Finnish artists and designers the young participants seek their own way into the future by immersing themselves in their dreams and trying their hand at overcoming obstacles.
The workshops were held during 2013–2014 in cooperation with a Namibian art school, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Polytechnic of Namibia, and local NGOs.
The works displayed at the Helinä Rautavaraa Museum were part of the World Design Capital 2014 programme in Cape Town.
